I carry a small bag with things I want to access during a flight. I keep this bag inside my normal “personal item” backpack, taking it out when I get to my seat. I then store it under the seat, while my main backpack goes in the overhead compartment. I also have a carabiner attached to it, which allows me to hang it off the seat back if I want to, or attach my water bottle so it doesn’t roll away.
My bag usually includes:
- AirPod Pros[^1]
- flight headphones[^2]
- Kindle
- small notebook with pen
- facial tissues
- small pill container (ibuprofen, Immodium, Pepto bismol, etc)
- charging cords[^3]
- n95 mask
- individually wrapped face wipes
- Cough drops
- Snacks (often a snickers bar or peanut m&ms)
**Footnotes**
[^1]: I use these with my phone or kindle.
[^2]: These headphones are corded, and includes a dual-prong attachment and a lightning connector. I usually use these for any flights that have an entertainment screen and require corded headphones. They have a simple noise canceling feature that makes it easier to hear whatever I’m watching.
[^3]: I usually have a usb-c to lightning for my phone, plus a small usb-c to usb-a adaptor. I sometimes include a usb-c cord as well.
