If you travel regularly, you've probably learned a few things along the way. And if you're like me, many of those lessons arose from less-than-ideal experiences. I've started keeping track of these lessons, which I jot down when we learn them or during our [[§ 1.4 - Reflect|Reflections]] after a trip. I keep these in a document in our [[Travel dashboard]] so they're easy to glance over when we're planning a trip. These lessons aren't general travel advice, but are instead lessons for me personally based on my own previous experiences. I like following Derek Sivers's lead and putting mine in the [form of directives](https://sive.rs/2do). Some examples of my own lessons: - Schedule an easy day after *any* red eye flight - Fill a water bottle for the flight before boarding - Don't expect to type on a plane - Schedule [[End of day journaling]] time into the itinerary - Set a deadline for reviewing your trip photos
