POSSE stands for **P**ublish on your **O**wn **S**ite, **S**yndicate **E**verywhere. This means posting on your own website first, then syndicating the same content to other platforms (either re-posting it in full, or linking back to your own site). POSSE offers a range of benefits: - You own your content, not a social media platform. It's always yours, you have control over it indefinitely, and you can't lose your account. You're never beholden to a single platform's whims, cultural relevance, or inevitable [[Enshittification]]. - You decide how everything looks and functions. You make the rules, not the platforms. - You can still distribute copies to your friends on the platforms they use. This gives you many of the distribution benefits of a large platform, but on your own terms, not theirs. - You can distribute your stuff however you want—via [[RSS]], via email newsletters, via video (short forms or long, vertical or horizontal, whatever you want!), via podcast, via blog post, and so forth. When you post to your own site, you decide what that looks like.
