No matter where you go, you always bring yourself.
If you're fundamentally unhappy, you'll arrive to your destination fundamentally unhappy, too. While many people [[Reasons we travel|travel as an escape]] from their daily lives, you can't escape traveling from *yourself*. Travelers remain the same people no matter where they find themselves. You may be temporarily distracted, or react differently to stimuli when you're on a trip, but fundamentally you're the same person and you will generally regress to the mean as the novelty of a destination recedes.
[[Travel can change you]], but it doesn't happen automatically and requires real personal work. Even so, travel still presents an excellent opportunity for changing oneself.
