A quest is a travel goal of visiting a particular set of related places. To qualify as a quest, the travel goal must be a set of objectives that relate to each other by some objective criteria. That is, if you tell someone the quest criteria, they should be able to compile the list of objectives on their own. As a result, [[Bucket Lists]] and [[Personal challenges]] are not quests. For example, visiting all of the national parks is a quest, as the list is derived from objective criteria. If it’s defined as a national park, it’s on the list—anyone can put together the list from the National Park Service website. But visiting a personal bucket list of 9 specific national parks isn’t, because it’s not based on objective criteria—it’s just a list of places you personally want to go. This distinction is important, as one of the main benefits of [[Questing]] is visiting places you might not otherwise go to. Similarly, personal challenges (such as hiking trips 500 miles in a year) aren’t quests because you can ”repeat” the location over and over. That said, quests can involve subjective objectives, as long as the list is objectively derived from another source. So visiting the "Top 10 rated restaurants on Yelp in Phoenix" is a quest because it's actually an objective list of opinions that anyone can look up and verify. There are four [[Types of quests]], which allows for varying goals and difficulty levels. — Find more posts on #questing
