Wren House is probably my favorite brewery in Arizona, so when I heard that they were opening another taphouse—and that it would be in Ahwatukee of all places—I was stoked. We've been regulars since their first day; in fact, I think I was only the second person to qualify for the Krüg Club. Südhalle ("South Hall") is a take on a German-style beer hall, and features about 10 quality German/Czech/Belgian imports on tap (including some side pour taps!), as well as about 10 of Wren House's own brews. You can almost always find Spellbinder on tap, which I consider to be Arizona's best flagship IPA. There's a quality, but limited menu, also with a distinctly German vibe. The happy hour is great: a single smash burger and pint for $10. If you're headed over to check it out, lemme know and I'll meet you there—I can always use an excuse to stop by.
