We visited on 25 Jan 2025 on our 100 Day Adventure, doing a day tour from our hotel in Colombo. Our game drive was not terribly interesting until near the end, when we had a great encounter with some elephants. As we were returning back to the entrance, we spotted a leopard, and proceeded to follow it as it crossed through several areas. At one point, we had parked on a road in front of a deer, and the leopard emerged from the tree cover 30 yards away, and eventually began stalking the deer. The deer caught notice as the leopard approached and stood ground for a minute or so. The leopard began approaching again, causing the deer to squawk loudly and race away.
