A memory gift recounts the memories we have of one another or a specific experience. These can be in nearly any format, but a narrative, scrapbook, or series of captioned photos or video seems to be the most popular. Not only are memory gifts far more personal than simply buying something off the shelf, but they can cost nothing to create, and are often cherished by both the creator *and* recipient. In fact, these gifts also serve as a [[Memory asset]] that you can both use in a [[Remembering system]]. ## An example When my mom asked what I might want for a birthday gift last year, I replied that I wanted a biography of her memories of me from birth until age 6. She spent several weeks reminiscing and writing, and it quickly became obvious that creating this biography was as much a gift to her as it was to me. It remains one of the best gifts I've received, and one that will only increase in personal value over time. Best of all, it's something that we can continue to improve as we remember other things.
