Many people publish blog posts on their travels.
But blog posts are a poor substitution for journaling for the same reason [[Journaling vs social media|social media is]]: it's written for an outside audience, not for [[Journal for Future You|Future You]].
This is a *critical* difference.
It influences what you write about, [[Avoid the inner censor|what you don't]], the details you leave out because they're only relevant to you, or perhaps [[Journals should remain private|feelings you don't want to disclose]].
Because posts are written for an outside audience, bloggers often [[Social media is a highlight reel|embellish the details]] of a trip, or focus on [[Journal what you can't google|basic logistical details]] instead of the personal memories they created, how the trip changed them as a person, or why aspects of the trip were especially meaningful.
Even if it's inferior to journaling, however, blogging is still *far better* than not creating *any* sort of [[Memory asset]].
