One thing you quickly realize when caring for an aging parent is that every new illness—or even simply a *suspected illness*—becomes its own project to manage. There will be more doctor visits, more tests, more follow-ups in the future. You'll likely need to coordinate all of this with his providers and specialists and maybe his care facility too. You probably need to update other family members and maybe friends, too. What might have just been a random symptom may require quite of bit of time and energy to deal with, even if it's simply ruling out possible diseases or afflictions. If you don't have a system to manage all of this, it's going to be overwhelming. --- Tags: #aging Last updated: June 26, 2023 First posted: June 26, 2023
